Book Covers are so Important
Everyone I meet tells me they often choose books by new authors, by their book covers first, then the blurb on the back page, then the first few paragraphs or pages.
I know it’s true because this is the way I select new authors, both on Kindle and in bookshops.
Getting new artwork is an exciting time!
I was delighted with the cover of Path Unchosen, and received a huge amount of positive feedback about it. I’d always intended to thematically link the covers in the series, and the great feedback reinforced that decision.
I went back to my cover designer, Andrew Brown from Design for Writers, and asked for a cover for Truth Unveiled that offered both a progression from Path Unchosen and a link back to it.
I couldn’t be happier with the final product. Both covers are intriguing, and a little dark. Path Unchosen has a small update, with the bronze award it won.
I asked Andrew to prepare a design that I could use across Twitter, Facebook and on business cards.
Doesn’t it all look great 🙂 I can’t wait to see what we come up with for the novella and for book 3… I just need to finish writing them!
The colors from Andrew’s design have influenced the design of this website and enabled me to create a brand color and font template.
To me, the branding represents darkness and hope. Strength and independence. What do you think?
